An Ode to England

Oh England, how I love your cold and gray March days. Some may wonder why I’d travel for dreary days during the last days of winter. But why not go to the sun and surf? A tropical island adventure! Nope. I’ll take a rainy cool England adventure instead!

Sure maybe it’s not the most fun walking a mile in the chilly rain to the train station. But I much prefer this to sweaty soiled travel clothes and sunburns. As long as I have my favorite jacket and my waterproof Merrell boots, I’m the happiest kid in town. And even happier to have fit this quick England trip into a busy time. While I wish I had longer to visit, I feel beyond lucky to have gotten this time at all.

I got to visit with a couple of old friends and meet a whole bunch of new ones. We did improv to celebrate International Women’s day. I taught 4 workshops in 4 cities in 4 days!

It was exhausting and exhilarating and empowering! So many e’s! What there are more. It was exciting and enveloping and enchanting.

I was constantly battling my own anxieties over disappointing others in the workshops. But as each one was completed, that fear would lift a bit. And I could just feel the joy in each moment. And the sort of amazement that comes with actually doing something you’ve always wanted to do.

Thank you, oh lovely England, for giving me this joy. Even in the dreariest moment, my soul was smiling with delight.
