Teaching Improv In the Time of COVID
I’m so thankful to be teaching during a time like this. It was a gift to be able to work with this group this weekend.
I met Geraldine at Improv Camp. I met Kat when I taught a couple years ago in Liverpool. I met Paul in online drop ins with the Nursey Theatre at the beginning of the pandemic. I met Ruddy several years ago when he was a student in my class at Finest City Improv. I met Susan in online jams with MKE improv. I play with Chandra on a team that meets weekly online. I met Deb in the last workshop I taught online.
And here we are on the internet learning and playing together. This wouldn’t have been so easy to do in person. I’m so lucky to be doing this during such a strange time.
I’ll be teaching this workshop, Have Fun With Anyone, again soon. If you’re interested, please let me know! We have a silly good time. I’ll help provide some good takeaways as well.
In this workshop we focus on making the best out of undesirable moments in improv. Which is exactly what we’ve been doing for the past year.
There is resilience in getting back up and making the best of a crummy situation. And it’s really nice when we can do it together.
