Route 11

As we transition into different stages of the pandemic, I think of people that I spent time with during all of that aloneness. Many folks were completely zoomed out. But I was really thankful for Thursday nights. That’s when I got to see a group of people that brought me so much joy during such a strange time.

From the moment we met for my first coaching session, I felt such warmth. And what was meant to be temporary guest coaching, turned into almost a year. Through the toughest parts of the pandemic. Elections, insurrections, holidays alone etc. We kept each other company via text and zoom.

We talked about how someday when this pandemic was all over, we’d get a house together in California and do improv all weekend. With folks living all over CA and having the busiest schedules, it felt like just a dream. But we did it!

Somewhere between Delta and Omicron we made it to Tahoe and spent a few lovely days together under one roof. We did improv. We stayed up late into the night sharing music. We ate and played games. We held space to share thoughts, hopes, fears etc. It was so lovely to come together like this.

This group became a family during a very challenging time. It was such a wonderful surprise and I’m forever grateful.
