Improv

Ireland

I brought in the last month of 2019 in Ireland, one of the most magical places I’ve ever encountered. I paired an improv festival with a solo weekend trip and with that so many of my little fluffy dreams came true.

My journey started in Galway which was buzzing with Christmas markets and twinkle lights at every turn. It was my third trip to Ireland and I was finally visiting this lovely little land.

I wandered streets and drank tea and took a tour of the Cliffs of Moher. It was all the things I’d wanted to do for so long.

The solo time was reflective and peaceful with a musical background. Even at the Cliffs a man softly played the accordion nearby me. I never realized one could softly play an accordion. But Ireland is magical like that.

Music everywhere. Even in the corners of Ireland.

Improv Fest Ireland in Dublin was next and it was all about getting back to improv and connecting with old and new friends. It was a beautiful week of shows and workshops and friendship.

I still couldn’t believe I was there to teach workshops. In IRELAND. It was all I could have dreamed of. And I’ll never forget it. These groups were lovely and supportive and from all levels and backgrounds. I’m very lucky I got to share this space with them.

What a dream it was to perform with these teachers.

Also got to share the stage with these lovely women and friends from Manchester. They were brilliants!

It was my second time at Improv Fest Ireland. My first as a teacher, I can’t stop saying it enough but it was magic. When you commit to focusing on what you love and on what brings you joy, it’s amazing to start seeing it happening in your life.

I’m so grateful that Improv Fest Ireland gave me this wonderful chance to come and teach for them. It was a dream come true. My life isn’t perfect by any means, but experiences like this remind me that I’m right where I need to be.
